I am an experienced English Language Learner (ELL) specialist, teacher educator, and author dedicated to empowering multilingual learners through inclusive, grammar-informed instruction. I serve full-time as an ELL specialist at a high school in the Riverview Gardens School District, where I collaborate with content-area teachers to support language development and academic achievement for culturally and linguistically diverse students.
I hold international credentials in TESOL/TEFL, Cambridge CELTA, and British Council IELTS certification. I am currently completing my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in English Language Learning at National University, where my research uses a qualitative thematic analysis approach to examine how teachers interpret and experience collaboration in systems shaped by idealistic institutional mandates. One emerging theme in my work is “Performative Collaboration Under Institutional Mandates,” which reflects the gap between policy-driven expectations and authentic, instructional collaboration.
I am also the author of the upcoming book, Grammar as a Bridge: Empowering ELLs Through Writing and Speaking, which highlights how targeted grammar instruction strengthens writing confidence and supports oral language development. The book offers practical strategies, visual supports, and culturally responsive activities to make grammar accessible, meaningful, and empowering for English learners.
